About Summer Iceland

The Summer Iceland program is packed with incredible opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students looking to expand their international business education outside of the traditional classroom. Iceland is known for being called the Land of Fire and Ice because of its volcanos and glaciers.  Learn from business leaders on important subjects such as Renewable Energy, Sustainability, and Manufacturing.  We will also visit the world-famous Blue Lagoon and the Strokkur Geyser! While traveling abroad, students will learn about Icelandic culture, history, customs, politics, and international business practices. Student Testimonials

The Iceland Seminar trip was truly life-changing and eye-opening and an experience I will cherish and value for a lifetime. Having the opportunity to engage with and learn from people as well as business men and women I have the utmost respect for is truly a privilege. I gained more knowledge, perspective, and first-hand experience in my 10-day trip to Iceland than I believe I could ever have received in a classroom. This trip was planned and executed flawlessly and I am incredibly grateful to have participated.

This study abroad experience really changed my outlook on many things, both personal and professional. I learned so much about different kinds of industries; how they source their products, how they treat their employees, how they are socially responsible, and many other great lessons. It was nice being able to interact with people in business in a different country. It gave me a good glimpse of how communication may work in different countries and how to clearly communicate with others while there is a language barrier.

All in all, I had a great time. Iceland was breathtaking, more so than I could have ever imagined it. I loved every second of being there and felt that my life was finally coming full circle after what seemed like an eternity of Covid ruling our lives. I am so thankful for all the experiences that I had and all of the new friends I met. I hope that I can continue my relationship with my peers for the years to come and we can meet somewhere down the line and talk about, “remember when.”

Having never studied abroad before, I had no idea how much I could learn and how quickly I could make a good group of friends in such a short period of time.  Though we only had 10 days together in Reykjavik, this trip bonded people together within the first day.  There is also so much that we can learn from Iceland about sustainability to protect the environment, but also to help businesses profit while still being responsible to their employees, customers, and communities.  Though it was not my original choice for travel, I am glad that Covid-19 changed my plans and that I was able to travel somewhere new because our traveling group and the Icelanders we met were all fantastic people and our time there makes me want to visit again as soon as possible.
